The Life Science Login enables researchers to use their home organisation credentials or other identities (e.g. Google, LinkedIn, LS ID) to sign in and access the data and services they need. It also allows service providers (both in academia and industry) to control and manage access rights of their users and create different access levels for research groups or international projects.
Single users
The LS Login provides a single sign-on for all Life Science services.
You can log in using your existing account (e.g. university, institute, or commercial provider) or activate your account with a password directly managed by the LS Login service.
No matter which account you use, you’ll be recognised as the same user across all services — no need for separate credentials.

Home organisations
Single user access to the LS Login can be completed through a confirmed affiliation with a home organisation (e.g. a university, research institution or private company).

Service providers
Service providers can integrate the LS Login using standard protocols (e.g. SAML 2.0, OpenID Connect) to authenticate users and make authorisation decisions.
Single users are redirected to the LS Login for authentication and service providers receive their attributes, such as name and identifier, affiliation, group memberships and authorisations.
Service providers use the official LS Login button and provide guidelines to users.
