How to register with an LS Login:
- Open this link
- Choose your home organisation (your university, research institution) from the list, or if you cannot find it on the list, pick one of the supported commercial/community services (e.g. Google, ORCID) and Log in with the selected account using your personal credentials. If you can’t find a suitable home organisation or other service, you can set password for your LS account and use it as a way for login (see How to get LS ID in case you can not find suitable home organisation below).
- Fill in the registration form. Review and accept usage policy and click on submit.
- You will receive an email with a verification link. Click the link in the email to verify your email address.
- You have successfully registered. Now you can start using it for accessing services.
How to register if you cannot find a suitable home organisation or commercial service:
- Open this link and fill in the registration form for creating the LS account with password and confirm AUP.
- You will receive an email with a verification link. Click the link in the email to verify your email address.
- You have successfully registered an LS account. Now you can start using it for accessing services.
Note: After you finish registering, you should be redirected automatically to the service where you originally started. In some cases, you will not be redirected automatically. In such a case, you can revisit the website of the service you want to log into and again click on the LS Login button. After filling in your credentials from the previous step you will access the service.
How to log into the service using your credentials:
- Visit the website of the service you want to access (eg. ELIXIR Intranet, Galaxy portal, Euro-Bioimaging Web portal,…). Click the LS Login button. If the service requires a specific registration process and you have not already completed it, you will be navigated via the process automatically.
- Once you click the login button, you will be asked to choose one of the accounts linked to your Life Science account (home organisation – university or institute account, commercial or community service Like Google, ORCID or LinkedIn or your personal LS account).
- Complete your login at the selected identity provider by entering your personal credentials.
- If you are accessing the service for the first time, you will see a page informing you about the personal data being released to the service. Review it and if you agree with data being sent to the service, accept the transfer.
- Confirm data release from the Life Science Login to the downstream service (eg. ELIXIR Intranet, Galaxy portal, Euro-Bioimaging portal,…). This step might not be needed, if you have previously visisted the service and “saved the consent”.
- You are now successfully logged in to the service.
How to activate a local account:
- Log into your profile page
- Select authentication and set up your password.
- Now, you can log into a service with either your local or your home organization account, and the service will recognise you as the same person.
